Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region
In 2014, the disaster situation in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region was the same as that in recent years, mainly drought and hail disasters.
1.The time of disaster occurrence is concentrated and the loss is large
The natural disasters in Ningxia mainly occurred from June to August. Among them, severe convective weather occurred twice in late July and mid August, and intermittent thunderstorm weather occurred successively in some areas, Along with the weather processes such as thunder and lightning, short-term heavy precipitation, hail, thunderstorm and gale, it caused death of personnel, damage of houses, livestock, damage of agricultural facilities, reduction of crop yield, and great loss.
2.The severe disaster areas are concentrated, and the disaster poverty superposition is obvious
Throughout the year, 8 national-level poverty-stricken counties (Tongxin, Yanchi, Yuanzhou, Xiji, Longde, Jingyuan, Pengyang, Haiyuan) were all affected by natural disasters to varying degrees, most areas were hit by disasters many times, the affected population, crop area, area with no harvest, and direct economic losses accounted for 66.7%, 75%, 57% and 57.2% of all losses in the region, respectively. The above-mentioned counties have a wide range of poverty coverage, deep disaster degree, poor disaster bearing capacity, and obvious effect of disaster poverty superposition.
