China is situated at the intersection of two typical disaster zones in the world, with frequent disasters. There are various types of natural disasters in China, and many kinds of natural disasters occur in China all over the world, especially earthquakes, droughts, floods, typhoons and storm surges.

Natural disasters occur frequently and intensively in China. Of the 54 major natural disasters in the 20th century, China accounted for 8.

There are many kinds of disasters in our country, and the causes of secondary disasters can be summarized from the following four aspects.

China is at the intersection of two major natural disaster zones.

China is located at the junction of the Pacific plate and the Eurasian plate, with strong crustal movement.

In China, 2/3 of the area is mountainous area, and the types of landforms are complex and diverse. The unstable monsoon climate, especially the strength of Hawaiian high pressure and the speed of location movement, has led to frequent alternating drought and flood disasters in different regions of China.
