Map description

Online map of China hail disaster (1: 32 million).

Observation of thunderstorm cloud and hail cloud echo, making short-term forecast, serving for disaster mitigation

From noon to evening on September 16, 1990, a severe thunderstorm, gale and hail weather occurred in Beijing, Hebei and Tianjin, which caused farmland damage, power outages in cities, short-term interruption of Railways and communications.

Here is the radar echo of thunderstorm cloud band at 16:00. From the continuous echo map, the thunderstorm cloud belt moved from the Northwest Mountain Area of Beijing to Tianjin. At this time, the northern part of the echo (upper pink area) did not move over the mountains, but weakened and lagged to the strong echo area in the northwestern part of Tianjin, and hail appeared.
