Zhejiang Province

In 2014, the disaster situation in Zhejiang Province was the same as that in recent years, with snow disaster and flood disaster as the main disasters, and the disaster area of affected population and crops was the lowest in recent years.

1.The snow disaster is prominent and there are many casualties

From February 12 to 18, affected by the warm and humid air flow and cold air in Southwest China, snowfall occurred in most areas of the province, with snow depth of more than 10 cm, the snow disaster caused 10 deaths, accounting for half of the total number of people who died and disappeared in the whole year. In addition, tea, bamboo, mushrooms and other crops in some villages and towns were affected, and power facilities were damaged.

2.Flood disasters have a long duration with wide range and large losses

From the middle of June to the end of August, due to the weak intensity of the Western Pacific subtropical high and frequent cold air, continuous and heavy rain occurred in some areas, local rainstorms or severe rainstorms, and floods occurred in Hangzhou, Shaoxing, Jinhua and other places.

In particular, from August 18 to 20, a large-scale heavy rainfall process occurred in southern Zhejiang, some large and medium-sized reservoirs exceeded the flood control water level, a basin flood occurred in Oujiang River with a discharge of once in 50 years. More than 60 kilometers along the Oujiang River Basin were flooded, when the 10 square kilometer area of Lishui City was immersed in the flood for 24 hours, the local accumulated water was more than 2 meters deep, which caused great loss of family property.

3.The earthquake has a long duration with strong sense and high frequency

From September 12 to November 4, a total of 916 earthquakes occurred at the junction of Wencheng County and Taishun County in Wenzhou City, including 18 earthquakes with magnitude 3.0-3.9 and 2 earthquakes with magnitude ≥ 4.0. The largest magnitude was the earthquake with magnitude 4.2 at 18:42 on October 25. Due to the shallow source, most of the villages and towns in the earthquake area felt obvious. As a result, 137000 people in 478 administrative villages of Wencheng and Huangshan Town of Taishun County in Wenzhou City were affected, and 47000 people were affected More than 9000 rooms were severely damaged, and 99000 rooms were generally damaged, resulting in a direct economic loss of nearly 630 million yuan.

The proportion of the total number of disasters in the region (%):

The closer to the dark yellow area, the higher the proportion of the total number of disasters in the area.

The closer to the light yellow area, the lower the proportion of the total number of disasters in the area.

The white area in the figure shows: Non affected areas.

The orange sector in the figure shows: Drought disaster.

The blue sector in the figure shows: Floods and geological disasters.

The brown sector in the figure shows: Wind and hail disaster.

The green sector in the figure shows: Typhoon disaster.
