Beijing
In 2014, the disaster situation in Beijing was the same as that in recent years, mainly caused by wind, hail and drought.
1.Wind and hail disasters occur frequently and agricultural losses are heavy
During the flood season, wind and hail disasters occurred in Pinggu and Daxing counties (districts), and the local intensity was rare in recent years. From June 9 to 10, thunderstorm, short-term gale, hail and strong convective weather occurred successively in Huairou District and Daxing District, causing damage to trees, fruits and vegetables, grain, etc. On June 17, Pinggu District was hit by wind and hail, lasting for 22 minutes, the diameter of the hail was about 1-3cm, accompanied by strong wind. The gust level reached grade 8, causing damage to Dahuashan Town, Shandong Zhuang and other towns, some fruit trees failed to harvest, and farmers mainly engaged in forestry and fruit industry suffered heavy losses.
2.The duration of local drought is long
The annual rainfall is generally low, especially from June to September, some areas of Yanqing, Huairou and Fangshan have sustained high temperature and no effective rainfall, resulting in drought in some villages and serious damage to crops.
