The Yushu earthquake caused heavy losses to the lives and property of the people in the disaster area. As of 18:00 on May 30, 2010, 2,698 people had been killed and 270 missing. A large number of residential buildings collapsed, schools, hospitals and other public service facilities were seriously damaged, some roads subsided, bridges and culverts collapsed, and power supply, water supply, and communication facilities were damaged. Agricultural and animal husbandry production facilities were damaged, a large number of livestock died, and business, tourism, finance, and processing enterprises suffered serious losses. Landslides collapsed and the ecological environment was seriously threatened, the restoration and reconstruction after the Yushu earthquake is of great significance. The construction of new homes, new campuses, and new Yushu is the eager expectation of the people in the disaster area and the common wish of the people of all ethnic groups across the country.
