This atlas is compiled based on the statistics of national meteorological observation data, including 16 kinds of disastrous weather and climate graphic analysis products affecting China, including typhoon, rain and waterlogging, snow disaster, cold wave, gale, sandstorm, low temperature and cold damage, high temperature, drought, lightning, hail, frost, freezing, fog, haze and acid rain, such as the spatial distribution map of annual and seasonal occurrence frequency, the spatial distribution map of certain characteristic values, the national and regional frequency of the changes over the years (1961-2015), the national and regional frequency of the monthly changes, etc., a total of more than 300 Width.

This atlas is a reference book for understanding China's disastrous weather and climate. Snow disaster refers to the harm to industrial and agricultural production caused by excessive snowfall or thick snow and long snow layer. In addition to blocking traffic and endangering communication and transmission equipment, the snow disaster mainly endangers grassland animal husbandry, winter crops and agricultural facilities.
The distribution of annual snowfall days is characterized by more mountains and plateaus, less lowland plains, more in the north and less in the south. Most of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, the north and east of Northeast China, most of eastern Inner Mongolia and Northern Xinjiang are snow prone areas, with an annual snowfall day of 50 ~ 100 days, of which the Middle East of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau is more than 100 days; The West and south of Northeast China, northwest of North China, east of northwest and southeast of Shanxi, Southeast and central North of Inner Mongolia are the areas with frequent snowfall, and the annual snowfall days are 20 ~ 50 days; Southern China, southern Jiangnan, Sichuan Basin, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Yunnan, Southern Guizhou and other places are areas with less snowfall. The annual snowfall days are less than 10 days, and there is no snowfall in southern South China and southern Yunnan all year round.
