The 24-hour system is a way of expressing time. To distinguish it from the 12-hour system.
In the 24-hour system, it is 13 o'clock in the afternoon. It is 14 o'clock at 2 pm.
Although, in life, we use more than 12 hours. Usually we say that it is off work at 5 pm, or "9 to 5 nights" refers to 9 am and 5 pm (the time when ordinary staff go to work). However, in scientific and rigorous explanations, in legal documents such as contracts, time must be written in a 24-hour system.
The twelve-hour system is a time rule that divides twenty-four hours a day into two time periods, namely morning (a.m., Latin ante meridiem means before noon) and afternoon (p.m., Latin post meridiem means after noon). Each time period consists of twelve hours, and the numbers 12, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 are sequentially represented. The morning session is from midnight to noon, while the afternoon session is from noon to midnight.
