Calculation formula

\(F=-K (X-X _0)\)

\(K=\frac {F}{X-X _0}\)

\(X=X _0- \frac{F}{K}\)

\(X _0=\frac{F}{K}+X\)

• K---spring coefficient
• X---balance spacing
• X₀---balance position of the spring

Known data: spring coefficient; balance spacing; balance position of the spring, what is the force?

Input data: spring factor: 1000 Newtons/meter; balance spacing: 20 meters; spring balance position: 10 meters

Output: Force: -10000 Newton

Note

A negative sign indicates that the spring produces a spring that is opposite to its elongation (or compression).
