Water hardness online calculator
Usually the hardness of water is as follows:
mg/L | Hardness |
0 - 75 | Soft |
75 - 150 | Moderately hard |
150 - 300 | Hard |
300 and up | Very hard |
The hardness calculation caused by each ion is calculated by the following formula
Hardness (in mg/L) as CaCO3 = M2+ (mg/L) x (100 g/mol CaCO3 / atomic weight M2+)
The following calculator determines the hardness of the water to the concentration of divalent cation calcium, magnesium, manganese, iron, strontium.
Ca2+ :2 mg/l
Mg2+ :4 mg/l
Fe2+ :2 mg/l
Sr2+ :0 mg/l
Mn2+ :20 mg/l
Click "Calculate" and output the result.
61.43367532152048 as mg/L calcium carbonate.
The input value must be added to each box (i.e. if not, enter 0).
