Quotient is a mathematical term. The formula is: (Dividend-Remainder) ÷ Divisor = Quotient, written as: Dividend ÷ Divisor = Quotient ·····Remainder.
In a division formula, the relationship between the dividend, the remainder, the divisor and the quotient is: (dividend-remainder) ÷ divisor = quotient, written as: the dividend ÷ divisor = quotient······ remainder, which is then derived: quotient × divisor + remainder = dividend.
The remainder refers to the undivided part of the dividend in the integer division, and the range of the remainder is an integer between 0 and the divisor (excluding the divisor). For example: 27 divided by 6, the quotient is 4, and the remainder is 3.
In a division algorithm, the dividend ÷ divisor = quotient + remainder.
