Osmotic pressure: The additional pressure applied to the level of a higher concentration solution that just balances the number of water molecules passing from one side of the semipermeable membrane to the other side is called osmotic pressure. The osmotic pressure is related to the number of particles in the solution that cannot pass through the semipermeable membrane and the ambient temperature.
